Wendy and Briane are unique newlyweds having met later in life and love to show that happiness can be found at any age. The couple met at the gym in Sault Ste. Marie six years ago. Briane noticed Wendy and introduced himself. They travelled extensively together and even lived in Yellowknife for a while. It was a major life event when Wendy relocated to Toronto in 2012 and the couple bought their first home together.
Briane’s proposal on Christmas eve came just after the two moved into their newest home. After a tearful and happy “yes”, Briane gave Wendy a beautiful diamond from Yellowknife, a place of special significance to them.
The couple’s favorite wedding moment was when they came together for the ceremony in front of their family and friends. Briane says proudly, “I knew it would be good, but it was above my expectations.”
As the couple approached each other, Briane looked at Wendy. “I remember feeling so happy and smiling so happily,” says the bride.
Wendy and Briane’s most favorite wedding detail was the venue, their own back yard. “We worked for weeks to prepare the setting; it was very much a DIY wedding and it turned out beautifully,” says Wendy.
